Good Books

One of my favorite past times is reading. I love to read. I have more books than I know what to do with. I usually read more than one book at a time. But the thing for me is, I can't read two of the same genre of books a the same time. If I read 2 fiction books at the same time all the characters would be mixed up in my head! LOL! Anyway, here's what I'm reading right now:

My Weekend in Review

Hey guys!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was pretty busy. The man child King Jacob had basketball tournaments ALL WEEKEND! It started Thursday night and went on until Sunday afternoon! The team didn't take home first place, but they got third which is pretty amazing for a new team playing in a tournament of 20 teams, most of whom have been playing with each other for years. They have amazing coaches and a great support system. I was glad to see so many moms, and dads at the games supporting our young men. That was my weekend. I know it may not seem like a lot to some of you but it is. In 4 days, these young men played 7 games! 7!!!!! I am so proud of these guys *especially #7*!

 So that was my weekend. Oh, and I caught a pesky cold. But other than that, I had a great one!

Joe Fresh

The Joe Fresh brand first came to my attention on one of my many trips home to New York. It reminds me of H&M but to me, it's better. I love their accessories and they have some of the cutest jackets and shoes. I can't wait for their stuff to be available online or when/if they open a store here in DC. Long Time No Post!

Hey Everybody! I know I have been M.I.A for 2 months, but your girl was going through some stuff. At the beginning of my hiatus I was trying to find some balance between home life, work life, and blogging life and it wasn't working for me. Then: I got sick.... Yup. Hospitalized for 6 days type of sick. I won't go into details. You know what, scratch that. I will go into details because I think this is something people need to know about.  I had my 2nd Pulmonary Embolism in 3 years. The first one was in '09 and I just had one in March. If you watch The Braxtons, then you know it's similar to what Tamar's husband Vince had. It's also what Heavy D passed from. It's when a blood clot travels from your leg or some other part of the body, as in my case, to your lungs. It causes trouble breathing, shortness of breath, headaches, dizziness, chest pain. But symptoms vary by person. If you are over age 35, on birth control, or smoke, please be careful. Even though these are not the only precursors for PE's, because I am not a smoker, and I'm not on BC. I'm sorry if this is a little TMI, but this is my PSA to everyone. Take care of yourself and your health.
