Mixtape Mondays: The Slow Jam Deluxe Get The Drawers Tape- 90's R&B Edition

Hey y'all!
So if you have checked in a time or two you know I am a huge music lover. Especially 90's R&B. Every so often I make playlists to soothe my soul, but this one right here..... All I'm going to say is, someone can end up pregnant messing with this one! LOL! You got a little Aaliyah, A little Next. Some Mary, Faith, Boyz II Men and Joe for good measure. It's 5 hours long! I made this playlist on Spotify. I'm going to link it below. Let me know what you think! Feel free to follow me on Spotify and I'll do the same.

Ross Haul: Beauty Products

Hey, Y'all!

I am a frequent shopper at Ross, Marshall's and TJ Maxx, but it has never been for beauty products. It's always been housewares and linens. Until last week! I happen to walk into my neighborhood Ross looking for extra pillow cases and happened upon the beauty aisle on accident. Instant love affair! Who knew Ross had so many high-end beauty products for cheap?! I sure didn't. Here is a haul and review of the products I picked up.

Creightons Tea Tree Feet Exfoliating Foot Scrub

This Creighton's Tea Tree Feet Exfoliating Foot Scrub is the truth! It is made with walnut shells for a better exfoliating experience! I love it!

Laura Ashley Dual Sided Facial Brush

I like this facial brush but only the silicone bristle side. The natural bristle side was a little harsh for my skin but the silicone side was just right for helping exfoliate and clean out my pores.
Natural Basics Natural Body Scrub
This body scrub smells like a Hawaiian vacation! It is a light scrub which would be good for daily use and ladies with sensitive skin (like myself).
Spa Savvy Double-sided Foot Files
These are AWESOME!!!! They are great for the in-between pedicure time.
Vivitar Silky Smooth 3 Piece Bikini Styler
I picked one of these up from Target a while ago and it got lost in the move. It cost about $20. I got this one from Ross for $7.99. I love it because you can use it in the shower and it has the foil shave head for a closer shave and the trimmer and guard attachments. Great value at this price.

Well, that's all for my Ross Haul. I picked up all of these products for less than $30.

Thank you for reading!

Self Care Sunday

Hey, y'all! I know this post is crazy late, but like with everything else, life got in the way. Well, self-care got in the way. A lot of the time while we are taking care of everyone else, we forget to take care of ourselves... to make sure our tank is full. I'm now learning to start taking care of me thanks to my sis, So She Writes. I put together a little Infographic on some ways I like to take care of myself and hope that they are helpful to you. drop me a line and let me know what some of your favorite Self-Care activities are.

Music Monday {The 90's}

I’m not going to bore you with why I was MIA again. I’m just going to give you some good 90’s R&B for Music Monday. When I’m in a bad mood or have a lot on my mind, music definitely soothes this savage beast. The 90’s were a good decade: Especially for R&B music. They’re just not making it like that anymore. Here’s just a few of my faves.

I am suffering from PVS: Post Vacation Syndrome (he he! I made that up) so I needed a little Monday Motivation to get me back in the swing of things.

In 11 days I will on my way to beautiful Puerto Rico for my 1 year wedding anniversary with my boo! In preparation, I have been trying to decide on my manicure for my trip. Here are some that I found on Pinterest that I adore. Now I just have to choose one!

My Christmas Wishlist

Like I said in my previous post, Christmas is my favorite time of year. Mostly because of the looks on my kids faces (when they were younger) when they would come downstairs and see all the stuff that "Santa" left them the night before. Now they are older, but I still love shopping for them. I also love receiving gifts! My favorite gifts to get are pajamas!!! I love comfy pj's! Here is my Christmas Wishlist!

What's on your holiday wishlist?

Christmas Gifts For Him

It's that time of year again: Christmastime!!!!! Although I love the holidays, I am not a big shopper. I love stuff, but I don't like going out to get it..... I know that sounds a little strange, but hey, that's me. This post isn't about things that I want. It's about helping you shop for your special guy.

{1} The New XBox One. If your guy is a gamer and already has the 360, this is just the natural progression. You get this for him and he will be putty in your hands... (for at least 3 weeks. Then your on your own)

{2} The New PS4. The same rules apply as above. I'm more partial to the Xbox...

{3} Nike LeBron 11 Miami Nights. I'm a sneaker head so my first instinct is to buy my dude some kicks. I'ts a good thing he's in to sneakers also!

{4} DeWalt Tool Set. I think every man should have a good tool set. They will never have an excuse not to fix things around the house! LOL!

{5} Gold by Jay-Z. My guy is really into "smell goods". This will definitely be one that will be added to his collection!

I hope my list helps a little. If you have some suggestions, please feel free to share! I'm always looking for new ideas!

Manicure Monday {Zig Zags}

Hey Everybody,

I'm back with another Manicure Monday post! I know it's been a while, but I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. For this manicure my daughter used two different greens and some zig zag nail tattoos. Quick and easy, but still fun. Take a look!

The dark green is Exotic Green by Sinful Colors and the green under the tattoos is Tudor City Teal by NYC Colors. What colors are you wearing for Manicure Monday?

I Will Follow {Must See}

Last week I had the pleasure of watching this really touching and heart warming movie called "I Will Follow" directed by Ava DuVernay. It starred Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Michole White, Omari Hardwick, Blair Underwood an Beverly Todd. Here is the "About" from the movie website:

Maye (Salli Richardson-Whitfield) is a success. Hot career. Hot boyfriend. But when her world is turned upside down by family tragedy, she must struggle to maintain her balance. I WILL
FOLLOW chronicles a day in the life of a woman at a crossroads, and the twelve visitors who help her move into a brave, new world.

When I tell you this movie was so amazing, that is an understatement. I will take you through the whole range of emotions; happy, sad, laughing, cryingL everything. One of my favorite things is the SOUNDTRACK!!! OMG! Check below for trailer.
Please go to Redbox, Netflix, or anywhere you get your DVD's and digital movies from and get this movie!!!!

*I have not been paid for this post. This is solely my opinions. No one asked me to write this post. thank you!

Once Upon A Time~ A Wedding Story

Have you ever felt like you are in a stand still in life because you are either
1: Not fulfilling your purpose in life,
2: Scared of the what-ifs,
3: Running from what is supposed to be, or
4: some other reason or all of the above.
A little background so you can follow where I'm going with this:
In another life I used to be a Wedding/Event Planner, and I was/am pretty damn good at it too. I loved everything about planning weddings, bridal showers, parties, etc. until that one fateful day that I decided to take a last minute wedding that in my heart of hearts I should not have because everything that could go wrong did go wrong from the very beginning.Without going into to much detail, I was doing a favor for a family member of a friend but said family member bamboozled and hoodwinked me through the entire 3 week (yes, 3 weeks!) process of planning said shotgun wedding. Then tried to blame all of her errors and lack of planning an honesty one me!
After said wedding, I took a very long hiatus from all things wedding planning (even my own). I second guessed all of my abilities (when it came to event planning) that I trained for, I am certified in, and I had a passion for. I let the dozens of perfect events that I planned be out shadowed by the ONE bad event. Everyone that was there to help me, even guest at the wedding told me that it wasn't my fault and that it would've been worse if I wasn't there, but I didn't believe any of it. It took me a long time to come to grips with it wasn't my fault.
With that said, in the time since then I have tried a few different things that just wasn't for me or my heart was never fully in it. Will I go back to wedding planning: probably, but in the mean time, I am working on some super, dope wedding related things (as well as some other stuff) that I am super excited about. Stay tuned!!!!

Until tomorrow,
